The Tanzania Revenue Authority (ITA) Commissioner General, CPA Yusuph Juma Mwenda initiated the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TRA and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in July 2025.The event was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands, H.E. Wiebe de Boer, IBFD Director of Tax Services Prof. Victor Van Kommer, the Rector of ITA and other TRA officials.

On 27th March 2025 the Institute of Tax Administration (ITA) Rector Prof. Isaya Jairo and the Association of Tanzania Freight Forwarders (TAFFA) Mr. Edward Urio signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the administration of the East Africa Freight Forwarders Practicing Certificate (ECFFPC) programme.

The Institute publishes a scholarly peer review journal, The African Journal of Customs and Fiscal Studies (AJCFS) – ISSN 2665 – 0517 (print) and ISSN 2665 – 0519 (online). The journal is published annually and has a scope broadly interpreted to include such areas as policy, law and administration in customs, regional integration, international trade and taxation at different tiers of government. The AJCFS was formerly known as Journal of the Institute of Tax Administration (JITA) which was published biannually focusing on the same areas as the current journal.
